EQL supporting Aviva to offer digital assessment of MSK conditions

Phio Access Powering Aviva’s BackToBetterDigital Service For Their Corporate Clients

EQL supporting AVIVA to offer expert care and advice to MSK patients

EQL is delighted to announce it is supporting Aviva, the UK’s biggest insurance company to offer innovative digital care of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions to its large corporate clients.

Phio Access is powering Aviva’s BacktoBetterDigital service — an independent clinical case management service for back, neck, muscle or joint pain (musculoskeletal) conditions. Phio Access allows its members to complete an MSK assessment digitally on any device.

Making healthcare accessible

The new digital assessment service allows Aviva to extend its support offering and better service its corporate clients outside of the existing telephone triage service available 9am to 6pm to a 24/7 digitally accessible service available whenever and wherever their clients choose.

Following an injury, members can easily access Phio Access for a comprehensive and convenient digital assessment directly from the Aviva member portal. Following the online assessment, Phio Access provides signposting to the best onward clinical pathway allowing rapid access to treatment services

We are pleased to be able to work with Aviva. Digitising their MSK assessment process with Phio Access will help members get to clinicians faster and improve the referral process. Ultimately it can accelerate recovery and get people back to full health and life more quickly.

Aviva members welcome digital assessment for MSK

The service was introduced in June 2021 and Aviva members have welcomed the service, with more than 65% choosing a digital assessment over a telephone assessment.

Digitising the MSK triage process improves efficiencies and accelerates members’ recovery — getting people into healthcare quickly following an injury improves their chances of good recovery.

Improving the speed of access in this way enables Aviva to handle higher case volumes and helps to reduce the length of claims, while improving the customer experience.

Jason Ward, EQL’s CEO and Co-founder, said: “We are pleased to be able to work with Aviva. Digitising their MSK assessment process with Phio Access will help members get to clinicians faster and improve the referral process. Ultimately it can accelerate recovery and get people back to full health and life more quickly.”

Aviva intends to launch the BacktoBetterDigital service to its SME clients later this year.
